Lynn Sweet- the icing on Obama's boring "sponge cake" conference

Barack Obama's press conference on health-care was essentially a series of stump speeches before pulling the "race card" out, derailing the entire discussion on health-care.

Most of the questions asked were pitiful, as were the follow ups. It was like a softball game, slow pitch of course- no, it was closer to a tee-ball game. When thousands of journalists would donate their kidney to have an opportunity to ask the President of the United States a question on national television, and you have journalistic hacks like Lynn Sweet asking Obama his opinion about race relations in relation to an arrest in Cambridge, MA?!

Aside from the fact the President shouldn't be making comments on local arrests that are under investigation, why would the final question of the night go so far off topic from health-care, an issue the mainstream media have been salivating over? I believe there is more to it. But first we have to look at who asked the question, where the question was placed, and the subject of the question- it all fits together like a sick little puzzle.

Who asked the "race relation question? Lynn Sweet- she's from Obama's hometown Chicago, a bureau chief for the Chicago Sun-Times, and a corespondent for none other then...The "Obama loving" non-news online source Huffington Post. Remember them, they were the ones that had the planted question in a past Obama press conference.

If you noticed, Lynn Sweet stood up without being called on, and was about to get her question in ahead of the next journalist, Steve Koff of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. It was as if she got her cue- that it was "about that time" to wrap things up- to derail the discussion. It was an awkward moment, but Mr. Koff asked his question and it was the one time Obama answered a question in one paragraph- because he really wanted to get to Lynn Sweet's question. He even said, "All right, I tried to make that short so that Lynn Sweet would get her last question in."

And Lynn Sweet proceeded to derail the entire press conference with this question, "Thank you, Mr. President. Recently Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested at his home in Cambridge. What does that incident say to you and what does it say about race relations in America?"

What the heck does an arrest in Cambridge, MA have to do with national health-care? Nothing. And Obama had no place to even make any comment on the issue since he wasn't there- and he admitted he didn't know the details. He even said, "I don't know all the facts...Now, I don't know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts".

As a lawyer, Obama should have known good and well that you don't make comments on ongoing investigations. But he did anyway. And then he went on a diatribe about race:

"As you know, Lynn, when I was in the state legislature in Illinois, we worked on a racial profiling bill because there was indisputable evidence that blacks and Hispanics were being stopped disproportionately. And that is a sign, an example of how, you know, race remains a factor in this society."

I wouldn't be surprised if Lynn Sweet, in some way, was a planted question. It was obvious that Obama really wanted to get her question in. But for this question to do its job, to mask the pitiful health-care discussion, it had to be last. It was the sweet thick icing on a tasteless sponge cake. But like cavity causing sugar filled icing, this question just may have backfired on the president.

Obama said it, now he's doing it.

He said it, now he's doing it. I'm not sure what is more disturbing, Barack Obama's words or the ignorant, mindless, sheep cheering him on...

Free Speech...a one way street (when it comes to ISLAM)

American Thinker has an eye opening piece about a trend in America. Islamic organizations, many who are on terrorist lists in many European countries, are freely holding conferences on our soil while conferences held by Americans with opposing views are being forced to cancel. Here is a snippet from the article...

(American Thinker)It is remarkable enough that a conference of this nature by a group that advocates the overthrow of the U.S. government actually took place in an American city. Perhaps even more disturbing is the growing number of cancellations of events and conferences that feature the opposite point of view with material and speakers that seek to educate the public about the threat of radical Islam. Increasingly, our country's prized right to freedom of speech seems to operate in only one direction, providing plenty of opportunities for our enemies to speak openly against us, yet, placing a gag over any discussion about the radical Islam threat.

New bill forces taxpayers forced to fund ABORTION!

Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) was forced to admit that one of the pending health care bills will include the funding of abortion- by the U.S. taxpayers.

Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT) pressed Mikulski on the issue asking if the language in the bill would force health insurance companies to contract with abortion groups like Planned Parenthood. Here's a snippet from the discussion:

Hatch asked, "Would this include abortion providers? I mean, it looks to me like you're expanding it to... for instance, Planned Parenthood. Would that put them into this system?"

"It would include women's health clinics that provide comprehensive services and under the definition of a woman's health clinic, it would include, uh, it would include, uh, Planned, uh, Parenthood clinics. It would, um, it does not expand in any way expand a service," Mikulski responded. "In other words, it does not expand, um, uh, or mandate abortion service."

Hatch asked, "Madam Chairman, would you be willing to put some language in [about] not including abortion services? Then I think you would have more support."

She responded, "No, I would not, uh, be willing to do that at this time."

So now our country is in the business of killing babies. Hitler would be proud.

Things can't be that bad when...

American pets have access to their own airlines! Hey, its entrepreneurship what can I say.
Here's the story...

Sotomayor backers bullying firefighter- Shame on you.

On the eve of the Senate confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor, her supporters are using dirty, thug-like tactics to "quietly" encourage journalists to scrutinize and dig up dirty- even if its not there- about the firefighter at the center of Sotomayor's most controversial case that recently got knocked down by the Supreme Court.

With his awards for bravery, some 17 years of fire department service and history of overcoming dyslexia, Ricci has become a compelling human character in the Sotomayor confirmation drama. Senate Republicans have summoned him, along with Lt. Ben Vargas of the New Haven Fire Department, as two of their 14 witnesses next week. (story)

The politics of "hate crimes"

When Akron, Ohio resident Martin Marshall was celebrating July 4th with his family and friends, watching fireworks, they were attacked by an angry mob. The mob of teens, up to fifty of them, began yelling, ''This is our world'' and ''This is a black world''.

Oh yeah, they mob were all black, and physically attacked Marshall and his friends, who were white. Even his 15 year old daughter ended up on the ground. ''This was almost like being a terrorist act,'' Marshall said. ''And we allow this to go on in our neighborhoods?''

Mr. Marshall suffered a concussion and bruises to his head and eye- he even spent five nights in the critical care unit at Akron General Medical Center.

So this is obviously a crime, a violent crime, driven by hate- right?

Think again, at the moment the case is not being classified as a hate crime. Because black people are not capable of hate according to the Akron, Ohio police department.

Can you imagine the reaction if 50 white teens ganged up on an innocent black family yelling ''This is our world'' or ''This is a white world''? We know what would happen- it would be the story of the year- Time magazine, CNN, and Rev. Jackson marching through the streets of Akron.

This is proof that "hate crime" bills do not work- they themselves are prejudice. A violent crime committed against another is already illegal- and driven by hate whether it is black on white, white on black, black on black, etc. To give one evil crime more weight then another based on the color of skin involved cancels out everything Martin Luther King, Jr. fought for.

"I have a dream, that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. I have a dream today!"

"Transformers 2"- Makes Obama look like a wimp...

Oscar Wilde said, "Life imitates art far more than art imitates Life."

But in the case of the summer blockbuster Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", art actually imitates life.

In the movie, the president, whose name is not mentioned but once later in the film, sends his wimpy representative to send the message to the "Autobots" (the good robots) that they need to leave Earth, hoping the "Decepticons" (the bad robots) will follow.

Oh yeah, and the president wants to negotiate with the Decepticons- something the Autobots warn of, even pointing to the fact that "you can't negotiate with the Decepticons"- or something like that. Sound familiar?

I thought to myself, "No, liberal Hollywood isn't actually making a point here- a point that really takes a swipe at their "golden boy" Obama".

But then it happened. They actually used the name "Obama" when referring to the president- only once, but once was all it took. Obama was the wimpy, "negotiate-with-Decepticons" president in this film- no wonder it got such poor ratings from movie critics! It all makes sense.

Many of the liberal, Obama-worshipping film critics and journalists got their panties all tied up in a knot over this. But let's face it, this is exactly what our current president would do- it is what he is doing right now- negotiating with evil people- go figure.

The question is, will the name "Obama" be taken out of the DVD release?

Helen Thomas to Gibbs: "They ought to be hanging their heads in shame"

Could it actually be happening? Could President Barack Obama's honeymoon with the press core be over? Journalist "Hall of Famer" Helen Thomas and CBS Chip Reid called out the Obama Administrations recently staged "town hall" meeting.

“Nixon didn’t try to do that,” Thomas said. “They couldn’t control (the media). They didn’t try. “What the hell do they think we are, puppets?” Thomas said. “They’re supposed to stay out of our business. They are our public servants. We pay them.”

When you call the reporter the night before you know damn well what they are going to ask to control you,” Thomas said. “I’m not saying there has never been managed news before, but this is carried to fare-thee-well–for the town halls, for the press conferences,” she said. “It’s blatant. They don’t give a damn if you know it or not. They ought to be hanging their heads in shame.”
