Ramadan=Glowing Obama blessing, National Day of Prayer=Obama distances himself

Barack Obama "distanced himself" from the National Day of Prayer by canceling a formal morning service and then not attending a large Catholic prayer breakfast the following day. 

But Obama did give a 5 minute Ramadan blessing, on video- posted on the White House YouTube page of course. 

So what is the message here? 

American National Day of Prayer = President Obama distances himself 

Islamic Ramadan = President Obama gives a glowing 5 minute blessing video (translated into several languages nonetheless)
