Thwarted Terror attack- Janet Napolitano: "the system worked" ??

Janet Napolitano may need to put that "right wing extremist" study away for the time being. There was the Fort Hood massacre (but that wasn't a terrorist attack), and now there is the Christmas day terrorist attempt on a plane- both with relations to Islamic extremists. See the common thread?

The scenario: Terrorist smuggles explosive onto plane. The terrorist then tries to ignite explosive, but instead lights himself and some of the interior of the plane on fire while, thankfully, the attack is thwarted by brave passengers.

During a CNN interview Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano shared that she believes that the "system worked". If having a terrorist suspect passing security with explosives is her definition of a working system then we are in trouble.

Would she say the system worked had the plane exploded? We have brave people who intervened to thank. This should be a firm slap in the face to the Obama Administration; a reminder that there are still people who have a goal to kill innocent people in the name of Islam.
