Obama and the New Liberal Fascists (Part 1)

I remember being a college student in the early to mid 90's. In my freshman year Bill Clinton was sworn into office and so began the decade of political correctness. Men stopped opening doors for women, for fear of offending feminists since they "didn't need a man's help". I came to find out that most woman really did enjoy having doors opened for them; even the liberal ones- go figure. Language could take on new offensive meanings, depending on who was in the room, where you were, and who you were. I came to learn that being liberal was anything but liberating. It was like walking on glass, constantly waiting to be called a racist, bigot, or "culturally unaware" for just being a conservative. I was an artist in the art department of a major university and instead of being in an environment where ideas were openly and freely shared, there was a dark cloud of self censorship hanging over me. Professors and instructors openly spoke of their Marxist, socialist views, but one hint of any of their students having a point of view that differed from theirs and grades were at stake. And even if grades were not affected, there was a mob mentality that arose which quickly sent any students who didn't "comply" back into their closet. I found that this wasn't only happening in the art department, but most of the liberal arts departments (hence the name I guess). Usually the atmosphere created by professors and other liberal students seemed tame at first. A sarcastic comment here, forced reading material or film assignments there. Eventually there would be the situation where a few students, led by the professor, picked apart , not a student's aesthetics such as use of color, but their actual being; their beliefs, opinions- their politics. Welcome to Liberal Fascism 101. We have to remember that fascists empower themselves by creating a situation, culture, society, that demonize the opposing viewpoint. And if enough people can buy into the lie, that lie being that opposing views are ignorant, racist, or evil, then the fascist gains power through the people who have fallen for their mirage. And then "the people" who conform to the fascists ideas will gang up on those individuals who express their own different viewpoints. I didn't realize it when I was a student in college, but I was experiencing fascism on a micro level. This is similar to what has happened with the "cult of Obama". Those who are critical of Obama are thrown the "race card", called "mean spiritied", or just put into the "unawareness" category. Even the comedians won't joke about that guy too much for fear of being called the big "R" word- "I can't believe he said that about our Barry Obama, he must be a...RACIST". (to be continued...)
