When you open a dictionary and look up the definition of "disingenuous", there should be a line in there that says, "see Democratic Party". And then there should be an example of its usage that goes something like this, "Vice President Joe Biden and the Democrats were disingenuous when speaking to the American people about the stimulus bill. ".
The Obama Administration hasn't even been in office for three full months and a book, a very thick book, could be written about the disingenuous things the Obama Administration has done. Many of these things may seem small, even juvenile. But it is these smaller actions and attitudes that, when put together, gives us a larger view of a very sly and deceitful body- one that has nothing but the interest of its own success and power- not the American people.
Joe Biden visited a small North Carolina town to speak to the people there about how the stimulus package allowed their fire departments like the one in Pikesville, NC to hire more people and be such a success. What Biden failed to mention was that the money that funded this fire station was signed under George W. Bush, and had nothing to do with the Obama "porkulus" bill.
In fact, the fire department would have had the money with or without the "stimulus plan". Joe Biden essentially "cherry picked" this success story from the Bush Administration's resume, took credit for it, and used that success to lure people into supporting the Obama plan.
So, let go back to that word "disingenuous". See if this defintion fits Joe Biden with this story:State Sen. David Rouzer, a Republican who represents Pikeville and worked in the Agriculture Department under President Bush, said he helped secure the fire department money last year out of the federal agency's regular programs.
"They're coming in and cherry picking the best projects and switching out the money, saying it's stimulus money," Rouzer said. "But it was already approved and in the pipeline. It's totally disingenuous to come down here and say this is stimulus money, when regardless of whether a stimulus bill passed, they were getting the money."(Story Source)
